My life here is so boring. I have no friends and I can not relate to anyone here because the culture is so foreign to that of Miami (everyone here is either Mexican, or Asian. I am Cuban and Jamaican and I miss West Indians!). All that I do all night (or day for that matter) is sit on my **** and type on the computer. My High School life is sucking major right now. I feel so alone and... BORED all of the time. I thought that if I gave it time, things would get better; but it has been over a year and nothing has changed. So, what should I do? Should I just move back to Miami with my Aunt?
I am a Junior by the way.

Fine I'll just be truthful. I don't like Asians. Asians mainly because they are the biggest racist bigots that I have ever met; and the Mexican culture is so different from West Indian culture, I might as well just shoot myself.
Oh yea, like I have not tried relating to the people here. I am not that stupid; I have tried, I don't like the people here. All everyone here cares about is the stupid environment and surfing. I am from Miami, I like to party. Thanks.

Seems as though you answered your own question. Time alone won't make it better you have to add some effort into it. If you gave it an honest try during this past year and feel nothing has changed then you should ask yourself what is it that keeps you in Southern California? Are you here because of work, school, family or something else? Focus why you are here and go from there. If it is because of school, then set a goal for yourself to do the best you can. Sounds like it wasn't your idea to be here in the first place. Make the best of it until you can return to Miami.

I was born and raised in Southern California, and I really like it. But I spend a lot of time wishing I lived somewhere else. But I have realized that it does not matter where I live, I will probably want to live elsewhere, so I started trying to see the good things about california. It turns out Socal is pretty cool. We have beaches, deserts and mountains. There is LA and San Diego and if you want you can drive right into Mexico. There are Asians, Latinos, African Americans, Middle easterners and everything inbetween. If you dont like one race, you can just hang out with another. We are very progressive in terms of politics. (if you smoke pot, you only get $100.00 fine as long as its less then an ounce.) And like people said before, if you dont like surfing, stop hanging out with surfers. If you live on a beach, you are kinda screwed, unless you take up riding or surfing. What I am saying is give us a try in stead of complaining and hating asians and mexicans. Have some fun, party up (We may not be Miami, but we can party all right.)

You need to get out there and make some friends! SoCal is pretty exciting, you just gotta get out there and find what you like to do. If you find that you can't do it, then yeah, you may want to move back to Miami. SoCal and Miami are worlds apart, in that Miami is pretty high energy and SoCal is very relaxed. Also, it depends on the school that you go to, in that every school in SoCal tends to be pretty different LOL Good luck! Oh, and by the way, you've been hanging out with the beach people. Tons of my friends party, and they don't drink soda, if that tells you anything. So don't try that shiz, you've just been hanging out in the wrong places. If you keep the attitude, I doubt you'll find many friends.

Funny, I grew up in So Cal, surrounded by everything humanity has to offer. Lots of Cubans (they and the 3rd generation Japanese-Americans got the good grades.) Lots of others, too, from preppy to ghetto.
But if you just try to open up a little, you should be able to make some friends. It sounds like you're a loner, but all these people from other cultures can't all be that arrogant. I agree, high school sucks, college is cool, good times will come. Don't blame it on the locale; problems will just follow you. Please try to make the best of what you've got, and be open to any new friendships that you can find. There's plenty of other people out there for you to help, if you just allow yourself to open up.

i might bypass to Florida. I in simple terms moved returned up north from south Florida and that i'm am lacking it. there are lots of recent Yorkers in Florida so which you will experience perfect at homestead. ;) it extremely is effective exchange nevertheless. As with everywhere, what out for the shady seedy areas. additionally, Florida has no state or community earnings taxes so which you will see extra funds on your paycheck. you will get used to the warmth because of the fact the is a lot of air con and beaches to relax you off.

You think changing your location is going to change your personality? What's wrong with Mexicans? SoCal is a very accepting area of the country. Instead of blaming your loneliness on your race, why don't you try to be more outgoing? I bet there are lonely mexicans and asians out there too!

I live in Florida and it's by no means a paradise. It sounds like you need to go out and make some new friends. The USA is a melting pot of many different countries. You need to make some new American friends, regardless if they were born in Cuba, Mexico, or Asia. Learn how to make friends now or your life will suck regardless of where you live.

Either way you are screwed. Florida is a floating sponge, waiting to sink into alligator oblivion. S. California is an island waiting for the next earthquake to happen. Depends on what your goals are I guess.
