Tonights episode of Dexter reminded me of a song where the guy plays banjo with the devil. The only real part I remember is he sais "Son of a *****" or at least "*****" somewhere in the song.

Thanks!

Yep, it's The Devil Came Down To Georgia, by the Charlie Daniels band, and they were playing fiddles, not banjos

Ah yes, one of my favorite aural memories from my childhood! That's "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", by the Charlie Daniels Band. It's about a young man named Johnny, who claims to be the best fiddle player ever, and is therefore challenged to a contest by the Devil, who wagers a fiddle of gold against Johnny's soul.

Rather than the inevitable sorrows of dealing with the devil in stories like "Faust", Johnny plays circles around the devil and actually wins, saying "I done told you once, you son of a *****, I'm the best that's ever been." (A censored version with "son of a gun" was sometimes aired on the radio.)

The song has been covered many times, with a few listed here:

There is one called "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" by Charlie Daniels. They were playing fiddles, though.
"I done told you once, you son of a b*tch, I'm the best that's ever been."

He could compliment G-d, exalt him in the process the Psalms. He in no way could point out the enemy until he commanded him to go away. compliment G-d in Georgia with a banjo an exceedingly old device extremely. possibly he could deliver a shofar to solid off demons, sing prasie to his Heavenly Father with an aim industry that woulkd hear him. The harp too is an exceedingly stable instrunment to play too because it had some impressive ability in bibliical circumstances.

That's right " The Devil Went Down To Georgia"
and that line you're thinking of is " I done told you once you son of a b*tch, I'm the best that's ever been.
