I don't think that always happens to everyone. However, if you have ever lost someone that really mattered to you, then you can understand that question even more. For me it was my dad when I was 20 years old. As time goes by, the tears turn to smiles and the happy memories creep in. Through those memories, you keep that person alive in your heart and for future generations. There's a quote that I love, I'll share it with you. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". Whether they passed away or just moved on, they most likely added something to your life worth smiling about after the tears.
