Very interesting question...however it may cross over into a man have a legal right to control a woman's body. Women already suffer enough under a man's control, e.g. female genital mutilation.
That would be like a woman having a legal right to decide if her man/husband should have a vasectomy. In that case, it is a man's body to control.
Many men that I have known, WANT their woman to have an abortion because the man does not want the responsibility of a child. I do not think a man should have abortion rights, you never know the outcome. Maybe the number of abortions will double as a result.
Besides, there are enough children out there that are not being cared for by their paternal father. And there are many, many children in foster homes, orphanages, and homeless shelters that need to be cared for. What about their rights?
Peace

Tell me, when does a fetus become human and/or alive? I for one do not know for absolute certain. But I do know certain facts.
One, that a human conception is the beginning of a conception of a human being. Two, that because most of life as we are familiar with it begins in this way. Therefore it is life. We speak of abortion rights as they pertain to someone else other than that
which is being aborted. Now if this is how life and especially in our case human beings begin, haven't we not better make dam bloody sure before we do a deed that could kill someone and a
deed that once done, cannot be called back. I have heard it said that we shouldn't have capital punishment because there is a
chance we may kill an innocent person. Yet when it comes to abortions, well then, lets all presume. After all they cannot speak for themselves. Lets not argue over the dead corpes of babies or whatever who happen to be at a certain stage of development. Lets instead argue over "rights". NO WAY: Lets instead concentrate on the vital question of wheather or not we are killing human beings. So I say ,until the question is absolutely answered let us be more concerned about what is being aborted and less concerned with somebody's "rights".
It should be a concern at the momment about the rights of those who cop it, the unborn. However if a man has a stake in the child then his voice should be heard. It's not about understanding, it's about what is right and what will happen. And about the responsibilities taken. After all, why should we believe people who say or indicate they have understanding when they cannot or will not understand their natural unborn. After all, hands up anyone who was not once one of the unborn in the womb or likewise.

it depends on the situation, i gess. but morally, men should have a say in the abortion. the baby does have both genes. but, if there were a law where the man did have a say in the abortion, there would be lots of paperwork, red tape, court hearings, you could only imagine. but, it could be a good thing, if the dad is willing to fight for the life of the child. as to where men who didnt want the baby, would probally say go ahead and have the abortion. where it would get really sticky, is where the woman wanted the baby, and the man wanted the abortion. that could get ugly. in that case, the woman is probally better off without the man, but shouldnt be able to go after him for child support. but yeah, your right, people should keep thier legs closed, if they consider aboriton an option after getting pregnant.

there is a point to be had, in that men do not have any say, yet can be held responsible if a woman does have a baby,,,, I'm not sure the best way to work that out, one first step might be for men to have the right to request an abortion,,, if they know the woman is pregnant,, then that would relieve them of responsibility, if they chose, if she did have the baby,,,,,,, as long as women have the right to abort the child, a man should also,, have a right to say they dont want a child,,,,,,,,,,as to the other problem, of a man wanting the child yet the woman wants to abort,,,,, i agree with you, its not right or fair,,,,,, but I'm not sure what can be done, as long as abortions are legal,,,, i dont think society will try to force women to have a child, but maybe culturally we can educate people, both men and women, that having a child or not having a child should involve both parties,,,,,

Well here is my personal experience.
While I was deployed overseas in the military, my wife (now ex-wife) sent me an e-mail saying she was pregnant with our child. (don't get suspicious, the time line was right for me to be the father) I was VERY excited, we had been talking about having kids for a while.
Later during the deployment she decided to leave me (OK this time it was for another guy) and then casually said, by the way I had an abortion... I was devastated! I would gladly have been a single father.
Her reasoning "I didn't want to have to have any ties with you"... WHAT..... You can't tell me that's right, how can that be okay! She didn't do this because she wasn't ready to be a mother, she would never have had to be.... This was a hateful, horrible thing to do.

obviously you don't understand the law or you are trying to figure out why you should have to pay. The thinking was if you make these sperm donors pay that would #1 make them responsible #2 if they are paying for the kid it would make them want to visit their investments more #3 Men would quit being so irresponsible about sex. Unfortunately as with all government programs it failed and men just simply disappeared off the face of the earth, they say out of sight out of mind, and if she's given it up I'm takin it. Aids didn't scare you so why are you so worried about paying child support. Maybe you should consider having sex with someone you care more deeply about than just gettin it. The men who leave these kids because all they did was try to get it and leave deserve to pay and I hope it's years before they get caught and get ordered to pay back child support because they will never get a social security check and will work until they drop dead to pay for the kids they left behind. As for abortion why didn't your mother abort you.

They both have to accept the responsibility and consequences of having unprotected sex or sex out of wedlock. He has the right not to make a baby, but as soon as the baby is made the right belongs to the woman. They won't get any sympathy from me.

Of course men should have just as much right over the child from the moment of conception. Just because the baby resides in a woman shouldn't take away from a mans right to have the child. A baby has the DNA of both the mother & father so it belongs to both equally.

I personally am pro choice just to throw that out there, but I do believe you have a point. Men should have a say and that woman should take that into consideration but utimately I believe it is the woman's decision because it her body.

This flies thoroughly interior the face of a guy or woman's actual autonomy. it particularly is ridiculous. possibly we ought to constantly provide adult adult males greater say approximately no rely if or to no longer be a discern, take the stigma off of so called "deadbeat dads" and enable them to bathe their palms of the full subject in the event that they choose for to realize this without criminal reprecusions. yet giving them the superb to choose for to terminate something happening in somebody else's physique... no. i'm sorry yet it particularly is out. i'm going to be on the counter protest, thank you.
