I am 38 weeks pregnant and my boobs do not leak.. AT ALL. I've tried massaging.. my fiance has tried stimulating them.. I've tried to get a drop in the shower.. everything.. and nothing works.

Has anyone else experienced this? I really want to breast feed.. and I KNOW they're full of colostrum.. they're HUGE now.. but I can't get a drop. Do you think I'm going to have trouble breast feeding?

Serious answers only please.. this is kind of embarassing.

Yes many women like myself do not release their milk/colustrum until they give birth, a hormone released during labor will make you lactate instantly. No worry you will be able to nurse you little one, congrtas...they wouldn't induce you the other week...bummer!

Breast feeding is a supply and demand type of thing! When the baby is born your body will begin to release a hormone called prolactin, to help your mammory glands relax and engorge filling with more of the liquid GOLd (AKA;Colostrum) This is a very essential suppliment for newborns because it contains antibodies. Just relax, let nature take its course. However the sooner that baby uses its natural "sucklin" instincts , the faster you will have let down and begin to produce on a regular pattern.
I hope this was helpful
Good luck with your new arrival!!

Dont worry, with my first two pregnancies I never leaked a drop until AFTER the baby was born . This is quite common. Now many years later, I had a bit of leaking during my current pregnancy and it surprised me! I didnt even know that some women leaked beforehand.
Once the baby is born your body will produce all the milk and colustrum the baby needs. Remember to drink lots of water and other fluids while you are breastfeeding, to keep your milk production up

That is perfectly normal! I am pregnant with my 4th right now...with my first I did not leak until after I gave birth. Giving birth and having your baby breastfeed will get that milk flowing...also if you are stimulating your nipples like that, then you can start labor in some cases.....the contractions can come on really strong and painful and it is definitely not recommended unless the doctor approves it before hand! DOn't worry, you will produce enough milk for the baby!

Why is this embarassing. It's great that you want to breastfeed. Good for you! Not a lot of people are doing it now a days. And it is the healthyiest thing for your baby. Don't worry your colostume will come right after delivery. Some womens come sooner when there pregnant. But some come right after they deliver. It will come. don't worry this is what our bodies were made for. To make and grow babies and then to be able to feed them! congrats on being pregnant.

Hi, it's not stupid to wonder, many women do start leaking before the birth. And don't try alcohol, cause that is just stupid. Congrats on your desire to breastfeed, and good luck!! One word of caution, do be careful with too much stimulation to your nipples, as there are ways to do nipple stimulation that lead to starting labour!! It's in the what to expect when you're expecting book!

The colostrum comes out when you deliver the baby. The milk comes down about 3 days after the delivery

Don't worry it all works out.

You should'nt be embarassed, this doesn't mean you don't have milk at all sometime you will see you breast swell with milk during or after delivery. Its kind of weird that it may not show now but when you start to breastfeed your baby after he/she is born it will start to come.
