It sounds like you are saying that both of you will agree on the issues and you don't think you will need a judge to make any decisions. That is great. You just saved yourself a lot of money. However, there are many small details that should be reviewed by someone who knows what to look for. I would suggest calling the courthouse and finding out if they have any of the following: a family court helpline/center; a referral to legal aid; a referral to a mediator; their own forms for you to use. If you reach a family court helpline they should be able to answer basic questions but probably not give you advice. If you go to a mediator you both can tell her what you want and she can draw up the papers. To be on the very safest side, I would suggest one of you hire an attorney who would be willing to simply look over the papers and point out any issues that are not covered. This shouldn't cost too much and could save on huge headaches in the future. Remember, that lawyer only represents the person who hires him (and no lawyer should ever represent both parties in a divorce.)
Good Luck.

Hey guy,,
Regardless if it’s a “do it yourself divorce”,, Marriage is still a legal proceeding,, so the divorce paperwork will have to go be finalized in court by a judge ! You and she can fill out all the documents (sounds like you already have..) and you should have an Attorney check them over to make sure neither of you wind up with any “nasty” surprises after the divorce is final. But that aside it’s not hard, and as long as all the legal aspects are covered and you both agree it’s not hard. Goggle “divorce papers”

Make sure you keep a log of everything that is said between you and your soon to be ex spouse. Sometimes its hard to rememeber. If some thing is said and you need to remember it for later you will have it handy.
Try and write down as much as possible, things that happen, good and bad. .
When you are in court try not to be petty. If you two are splitting things up dont get in to a sreaming match over who is going to get the dishes. Is it really worth it. ??

child support and or custody, the home or division of , bank accts , pets, cars, property, future assets< ira's> jewlery, future sale of property < when I left my x he kept the house but if he ever sells it i get so much from the sale, or if he dies his new wife and i split the sale price or she buys me out> burial plots, any thing that is important to you or kids you need to cover, think long and hard life ins policys, control of kids bank accts, contact the court clerk and they can give you paperwork to give you basics. I did mine no lawyers and it worked out great for both of us , no major fighting, Just both of you have to be willing to come to agreements Good luck
