I live in PHX and it has been tuff to get behind them this year. Gretz is doing his best, but he can't seem to motivate them. Sometimes I wonder if the guys are more into into working on their golf games than playing hockey. The worst of all is bringing back JR, he was a joke before and now he's just annoying. I'm waiting for the Penguin game, I'll be there.

Yeah, move them back to Winnipeg so they can suck up there instead of down in Arizona. :-P
Personally, I am surprised that they have played so poorly. They have a handful of good, young players, but they are a few years away. The fact is that everyone can't be good every year. This team is rebuilding, and it is going to take time for them to come around. That said, signing Jeremy Roenick and Owen Nolan was a terrible idea for a team that needs to be providing leadership and training for their youth.
In any case, the problem is not the location. If they moved to Winnipeg tomorrow, you'd have the same players, the same coach, and the same management. What difference would it really make? Meanwhile, Phoenix has a state-of-the-art facility that is brand new. All they need to do to fill the seats is play well, and that holds true regardless of where your team is located.
For example, Tampa Bay was second in the league last year in attendance. Winning a Stanley Cup really helps create a winning atmosphere and tradition. Florida, a four hour drive away, really struggled to fill their seats. Reason? They weren't any good. It takes a lot of time and hard work to gain success, and until they find that, it doesn't matter where they are. They are not going to sell many tickets.

Great players rarely make great coaches. Gretzky needed to replace himself earlier in the season. Now, unfortunately, good coaches that came available, like Andy Murray and Ken Hitchcock, have been snapped up. He can only hope for a second-tier coach at this point, and once the Coyotes drop 20 points out of the last playoff spot, their season is over.

At least Phoenix has a great rink. I was down there in 2003 when you guys played the Canadiens and your rink is awesome. I cannot wait until the Pens build there new rink.
Other than that you can look at it another way. Find out who are the top draft picks to figure out if you'll be getting a great player to start your rise out of the bottom of the ranks.

You can see from the look on "The Great Ones " face he's wishing to be back in Alberta even if it was Winnipeg.
Its odd with the talent there not any better..I for one could not get up for a game living in desert.
