I need help making Diablo 2 run on 2 computers connected through a 2Wire portal (sbcyahoo)?

I have the 2 wire home portal, 2 copies (legit) of the game but it still doesn't work. both computers "see" each other. I want to get this working so that my kids and vs play each other when I am watching sports or movies on our tv

I am guessing if you already know how to network the comps...here is how you do it in the game. I can explain more if you need...if you message me. You know that to play lan you go in the game to multiplayer and to tcp/ip game. One person makes the game and presses tab. At the top right the ip address will come up that os what the other person types in on his computer to join the game...there are some times that the ip in the game screen in wrong. So if you already know the ip of the computer hosting the game use it.
