You need to realize deployment is a very stressful thing for the guys, too. Think of all the questions they've had to ask themselves about their own lives, the choices they are making, and the realities they have to face. It must be overwhelming for them. He may even feel guilty about being deployed and leaving you back home, and he wants to "set you free." Somewhere around 60% of relationships end within the first 4 months of deployment, so this is normal. Keep your head up, believe things will eventually work out best for everyone, and keep supporting him - he needs it.

If he loves you like you said but needs space, you may be pressuring him about something or smothering him with too much attention or needing too much attention from him. Being in the military is a hard adjustment and face it. He deals with life and/or death situations on a daily basis and he needs to stay focused. Have you heard the term"let a bird fly free, if he comes back he's yours,if he doesn't, he never was? Good luck

He probably loves you, but you might not be giving him enough breathing room (like, not leaving him alone or you are being too critical). Just let him know that you are there for him if he needs support. You are being selfish if you think he's not treating you like you think you deserve. He's fightin' the war, for crying out loud! It's hard to do that and be perfect to his girlfriend at the same time - too much emotional burdening. Just support him and make him feel like he's worth it!
Good luck!

its means he wants to sew his oats, get some different types of trim before he gets too old. No big deal, most males is like this. You should move on, he will learn he is making a mistake and if you are meant to be you will somehow get back together. But he's not worth it.

Maybe he just needs some "him" time to think about what he wants in life. Sometimes people have to lose something to know what they really want. Maybe he wants to see how he feels not having you in his life. Good Luck & sorry to hear the bad luck.

In this case it may be GUY TALK for "I want to explore new relationships. but standby for me in case it doesn't go as I planned".
If I am right then then the appropriate GIRL RESPONSE would be something like "You can bite me" or "F*** Off", or "Deploy this (finger) a** hole."
Good luck Honey you deserve better, I know it! :)

when a guy tells you something like this then he is only trying to spare your feelings. he is unsure of the relationship and trying to buy more time before he ends it...keep your guard up and good luck.

he couldn't possibly love THAT much then... usually if you love someone... the space that you need is usually empty unless the person you love is filling it.... good luck
