Put her on a swing like the Fisher Price Aquarium... believe me it works like a charm... 99% probability she'll fall asleep. They also have the gym with this motive...

A play gym with lots of detachable hanging toys is great. The toys can be removed and attached to her stroller, etc. My son is in love with putting soft things into his mouth, so sometimes I'll give him a clean bib and he is very happy for some time.
Don't worry if your baby likes to spend some time just staring into space. It might be she is a bit overloaded and needs a bit of down time. Don't feel like your every waking minute should be spent entertaining the baby. If you have tidying up to do, you can bring the baby along for quite a bit of it. My son rather enjoys just being carried around while I tidy up around the house. If that gets to be a strain on your arms, use a carrier. You can also try putting the baby in the stroller and just letting her tag along while you do your thing. She'll probably be happy to watch you while you're doing some housework.

Try to let him watch a baby einstein, it offers a lot of stimulation for the baby because of the colors and music. It will entertain but do not let him to be watching tv all the time, just for a certain period of time..Believe me it works. You need to let him cry, day by day he will change, then you will find your baby just playing alone and/or sit him in the rocking chair while watching tv.
I have 5 months old son..We let him cry, because he want us to pick him up all the time.. Sometime you have to give him what we called "tough love" Now, hes playing alone, he sleep alone when he gets tired. He just cry when hes hungry.
I hope this helps.

Get one of those play mats with the two arches over and toys dangling down. It doesn't take much to move them, and the mats have toys like mirrors and flaps for tummy time.

You could try hanging toys in a kick gym that she can bat or kick at, or she's about the right age to start moving into a saucer, like the Excersaucer or Megasaucer.

Yes you are her favorite play thing and take advantage of her attention now because when shes a teenager its all over. But if you need to get some things done around the house and shes not happy by herself put her in a Snuggly and let her go with you. Or put her highchair in whichever room are going to be in, put her in it and talk to her about what you are doing. You get to take care of some housework or get dinner made and she still gets your attention.

Get a sling or a wrap? That way you could carry him with you jointly as you do each and every of the stuff around the abode you need to do. Or, wait until nap time? Or, understand he's slightly one and that maximum 10 year olds nonetheless would desire to alter up what they are doing each and every 5-10 minutes to stay focused? What occurs in case you pass lower back to him each and every 10 minutes or so and alter out a pair of the toys he's twiddling with? i understand he's little and purely fairly information approximately toys, in spite of the undeniable fact that it ought to be properly worth a shot. Or, possibly you need to attempt looking some music that he seems to be interested in, and enable that play jointly as you... what's it you're doing? yet another thought ought to be to pass his... heck, you p.c..: bouncy seat, transportable swing, play mat... with you into the room you're working in so as which you would be able to turn to him each and every jiffy and smile etc. you need to even spend the full time chatting with him approximately what you're doing. yet another thought ought to be to uncomplicated approaches to get "something" accomplished in 15 minute increments. i'm unsure what it particularly is you're aspiring to get accomplished (housekeeping, bathe...?), yet you may get quite stable at doing all of it in 15 minute chunks.

Hold her... look her in the eyes... smile and talk to her... sing to her. YOU are her favorite play-thing. :o) Talking to them and reading them stories and singing them songs makes them SMART. Just watch for signs of overstimulation... like turning her head away.
