who is the guy at the end of the movie coming down the stairs after all the pirates agreed that they would try to get jack back?

That's Captain Barbossa. He headed up the Black Pearl in the first film. He lead a mutiny to steal the Pearl from Captain Jack Sparrow. That's why Sparrow arrives in Port Royal on a sinking ship at the beginning of Black Pearl. It was believed that Barbossa died at the end of the first flick, so that's why it's such a shock when he strolls into the final scene.

Captain Barbossa, played by Geoffrey Rush. In the first Pirates movie, he was the main bad guy. He was Jack's first mate in "movie history" (before the story actually started) and lead a rebellion against Jack, abandoning him on an island. He supposedly died at the end of the first movie; he appears to have somehow returned.

captain barboasa the one who marooned jack on a desert island after commiting mutiny. then got killed by jack in the previous film. hes back now to help save jack from the clutches of the cracken and davey jones.
