Its really very hard to answer. But then also if you ask me the "How is the possible Indian composer to win Oscar" then certainly my ans will be A.R.Rahman.

Its because of his original sound tracks, his tracks where we get the smell of our soil, where we find our root.
His music is like a river which have included all the branches of our rich Indian music, from classical music to modern pop songs.


I will always say..

It got to be A.R.Rehaman. He is @ his best and he has emerged as a singer too. How many musician in India are good classical singer? Something we need to ask our self. He has given wonderful music for RDB. He has also performed music to some of other countries like UK, USA China..others. He understands what is really required for the people and he is an expert in his filed. I don't think any can come closer to him. Bottom line is, he deserves it for his hard work and committement. Hypothetically speaking – Even if, he does not make it up to the wining dyke. One day he will and the day is not far.

This person has explored and mastered most forms of comtemporary and classical music around the world, he has got a midas touch and creates magic in whatever he does.

A Gold Medalist from the Trinity College of Music - London, he is the first Asian to compose a symphony and perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

What more,.. this spiritual person also is a singer, lyricist, classical musician, writer!! A multi-faceted diamond from the 'land of gems'..

For sure the songs from Rang De Basanti will win this time... I think Latha ji's voice in Luca chupi song is really amazing and it moved me a lot... I was literally weeping on hearing that song..

And the kalbali song bring in the spirit of us out from our heart and the percussion in that song is very nice..

At least no Indians! We all lack originality in our national life and music is one classical point of fact. All lifted or 'inspired ' stuff for music directors and film directors!! As for singers, same thing as there is no Rafi saab or Kishore Kumar. All those who remain are distorted clones and sub clones.
