No. That's considered fair use. If you copy them and then share them on a filesharing network, that's illegal. If you copy them and then hook up your iPod to the big screen at your local pub, that's illegal. If it is just for your own personal enjoyment, there's nothing wrong with that.

Nope - perfectly legal. There was a court ruling in the early '80s that essentially gave people the right to record shows for personal use, as long as they didn't distribute them.
