Does anyone know the lifespan of a goldfish? I have two and I've had them almost a year.

According to this site: http://www.aquariacentral.com/fishinfo/cold/goldfish.htm they can live up to 15 years.

fancy goldfish lifespan is 10 to 15
and common goldfish lifespan is 20 to 25

with a little luck and enough space a gold fish can live up to 25 years and get between 10 to 15 inches depending on the breed

They can live 25-30 years in the right conditions, they like clean water so do lots of water changes ( 25% twice a week).

goldfish can live 15-20 years, maybe more, if well cared for and in the proper size aquarium or pond

Mine was 8(ish) when he finally gave it up.
He would swim up and lay in my hand when I stuck it into the tank. Very funny!
If you take good care of them, they can live for several years.

Mine are the same age.....as long as you take care of them and clean them ofter..they'll stay with you for years!
