These were average people they called witches, and yet they might have been not able to fit in the click of the Puritans, they were so-called Christians but only loved the neighbor they thought was fitting to be Christian. They were really a bunch of hazers like today in some schools. They harassed people with their ideas of what was right and wrong. And if they just did not like you watch out, you would get stoned or hung or burned. All in the name of G-D.

I don't think the persecution of witches was prevalent in the 19th century. I found some in the 18th and in the 20th, but not the 19th.

I dont know if anyone did,but Salem, Mass. was the site of many so-called witch burnings in the 17th century by the same people who are responsible for more deaths than Hitler, the christians-Merry Christmas
