I looked on a map of U.S.A. and it does appear to be the biggest state - I hope to visit the lone star state one day - and do the necessary research to give the most knowledgeable answer possible (rather than an educated guess).

Pretty much. Our capitol is taller than the US capitol , the San Jacinto Monument is taller than the Washington Monument. We have the largest statue of any American hero, anywhere (Sam Houston near Huntsville, TX)
Our onions are prize winners, we set the standard for music and every Miss America contest has a Texas girl in the finals.
No only is it bigger, its better.

You'll note the envy expressed by respondents from "not Texas".

Actually the only big thing in Texas is egos. Everything else is average size or smaller.

of course they are just ask any Texan.Well John Wayne was a big Texan wasn't he of course they unfortunately die too.I liked his western movies the best .
