I am a pianist, and I want to share my music with the world. I an also a bit computer illiterate. I would like to make a website, so that people can access my works to enjoy, but don't know how to go about it (uploading videos of performances, etc) can someone please help!

also, for uploading videos on your website, make a youtube account, upload your video, and then embed your video to your website.

First you have to find a free web site host that will host your site on the web.
You can try Yahoo Geocities, Tripod, etc. There are thousands of them, google them!
Next you have to build your website. A lot of hosting services such as Geocities give you site builders. Alternatively, you can use a template, and use Frontpage or another web editor to modify it.
Of course since this seems more like a personal website, I suggest signing up for a blog. It's easy to use, and very easy to upload videos and other things. Some great free hosts are Wordpress.com and Blogspot.com. You can upload your videos to YouTube and link to them through your blog.

It's sort of free hosting, but you are limited to a subdomain on googlepages & geo has ads on your website - otherwise I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get one for a few bucks a month with 750 GIGs of bandwidth and rich with features.. you will be much better off. Hosting is cheap nowadays.
It's up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name. Having your own domain name + your own hosting gives much more credibility to your site and allows you to be more flexible (such as adding google adsense to make money, affiliate links etc).
