Waging an agressive war against a sovereign power is considered to be a crime. Given that, should George Bush be turned over to the World Court? Should he be detained at Gitmo until he can be tried? Will he dare to travel out of the USA after he is no longer in office?

1. Violating the United Nations Charter by launching an illegal "War of Aggression" against Iraq without cause, using fraud to sell the war to Congress and the public, misusing government funds to begin bombing without Congressional authorization, and subjecting our military personnel to unnecessary harm, debilitating injuries, and deaths.

2. Violating U.S. and international law by authorizing the torture of thousands of captives, resulting in dozens of deaths, and keeping prisoners hidden from the International Committee of the Red Cross.

3. Violating the Constitution by arbitrarily detaining Americans, legal residents, and non-Americans, without due process, without charge, and without access to counsel.

4. Violating the Geneva Conventions by targeting civilians, journalists, hospitals, and ambulances, and using illegal weapons, including white phosphorous, depleted uranium, and a new type of napalm.

8. Violating U.S. law by using paid propaganda and disinformation, selectively and misleadingly leaking classified information, and exposing the identity of a covert CIA operative working on sensitive WMD proliferation for political retribution.

9. Subverting the Constitution and abusing Presidential power by asserting a "Unitary Executive Theory" giving unlimited powers to the President, by obstructing efforts by Congress and the Courts to review and restrict Presidential actions, and by promoting and signing legislation negating the Bill of Rights and the Writ of Habeas Corpus.

10. Gross negligence in failing to assist New Orleans residents after Hurricane Katrina, in ignoring urgent warnings of an Al Qaeda attack prior to Sept. 11, 2001

The facts are that it is not a crime to wage war against a sovereign nation, that is what they call war. Everyone including congress backed President Bush after 911 and signed a declaration of war and now because things didn't go as expected everyone that backed him now wants to take a different position for political reasons. I don't agree with all that happened and definitely believe the war on terror would have been fought better elsewhere than in Iraq but I didn't vote for Bush, on the other hand I don't blame him directly for all that has happened. The rats that leave the sinking ship are the real scoundrels here.

G. W . Bush is an ****** but very far from an idiot. This is why im no longer a liberal, because of statements like the ones stated. They have no sort of rational or comprehensive logic. Our enemies and by enemies I mean those cowards who don't differntiate between a civilian child and military personel, would have you to beleive Bush is a criminal, a racist, a mass murder a complete modern day hitler..
Well, my freind let me tell you something... War will never be justified. War will always have casualties. In order to defeat Hitler thousands of innocent people died in the process.. Does that make Roosevelt a criminal for waging war against imperial japan and nazi germany? This is "THE REAL WORLD!!!" Beleive it or not their are people who WANT TO KILL U FOR A POLITICAL/RELEGIOUS CAUSE..liberals need 2 understand we don't live in theory land .. If we put our weapons down were done!!- spiritually i don't agree with this concept but it's true and u have to accept it.

Considered a crime? Poor assumption to begin with.

In human history... war happens for many reasons. The world political stage is a very complex place. Simplistic rationalisations like this are almost meaningless. Basically, we (the US) do not partake in any of the atrocities for which war crimes tribunals in the past have been convened to deal with.

War is bad... period. Bad people have to be dealt with. Our intentions and plans and reasons are generally always out there for the world's scrutiny.

Whether he travels or not after in office, well, he will still have the nations security aparatus at his disposal to keep him safe, so I bet he will travel wherever he pleases.

Why don't you understand he got the okay from congress and yes democrats voted for the war too. There fore there was no war crime. If you want to talk about raping the country with Haliburton no bid contract there might be something there but the legality of that will have to be left for the incoming congress to decide.

The US waged an agressive war against Nazi Germany, a sovereign power, that didn't bomb Pearl Harbor. So I guess that would make Roosevelt a war criminal, too.

HMMNN, Well, GEE,I yah, pfff---Wow--Sorry man, just can't do it!
The only impetus for not having him prosecuted is that the inditement may not include Cheney or Rumsfeld or Rice or Wolfowitz or Necroponte or Cheretoff or (place Republickend Representative or Appointee's name here) or ......

Saying that because Congress was lied to, Bush is off the hook is like smoking pot and not inhaling--get a leg to stand on or remain part of the problem!!
