I know I'm straight, that's a fact. But I get so turned on by forbidden things. And I know being gay is taboo, so I have had the occasional gay thought, just because it's "wrong". Is that normal? Do other people do that too?

Yes it is normal. And don't call them "gay thoughts" because they aren't. Most of them are natural thoughts about Heroes or people we aspire to be like.

Take athletes. At some point in their lives, most guys have a secret crush on either a High School or Professional Athlete. Why? Not because their gay, but because we want to emulate and be LIKE THEM. We want what they have and this excites us, we find it attractive. This in turn, stimulates us, making alot of guys freak out. However, its not about sex, its about desire and your not wanting the guy (well, maybe not JUST the guy) but the power he possesses over you and everyone else). That's exciting for alot of people.

Some people could get this sexual excitement confused very easily with true desire for sex with the person; they are not the same. But, what are you feeling? I have no clue, only you do. Maybe your just curious and know that "doing something wrong" is more exciting than behaving.

It has been scientifically studied and is accepted, that it is very normal for guys and girls to entertain homoerotic thoughts as this is a part of human growth and development; this is taught in the school system. This is very normal and is taught that this generally occurs in the puberse(teenage) period of life and even during the post-pubescent period(adult) age. These feelings, attractions and urges should subside, but if they do not, then your body is basically, in scientific terms, "genetically criterially adjusting" - meaning that your feelings and hormones are in conjunction with each other and are probably going to take more time to fade away, if they do at all - this could be a life-changing period of time; but enough of the scientific squeemy gibberish; basically, your answer is "yes" and a male/female that states he/she has not had feelings/thoughts about the same sex - probability says they are dishonest. Hah.

First up, I've become quite skepitcal of the word "normal." I have personally spoken to a straight male who has gravitated, in the past, to thinkng sexual thoughts about men as he doeswomen. He still maintains he is straight because he still has these thoughts about women, not men. He cited simply curiousity as a reason.

I'd say it's normal depending on what you think about. I mean, you sitting there thinking it might be fun to try f*cking a guy a few times in your life is not gay, but if you fall in love with other men, whether you tell them or not, fairly often... hate to break it to you but... you're gay.

Yes, it is normal for some guys to have gay thoughts. I know this, because my ex-boyfriend had thoughts like that, he told me, about his best friend. That was when he was single, though, that he had them. He says he is not gay. I asked my mom about this and she confirmed it is normal for young guys to have those thoughts sometimes, everybody does.

Strange situation you are in. I can not pin point exactly if this is just a FETISH or you are really BISEXUAL (likes both men and women). However if you are turned on by forbideen things it sounds more like a MANIA. What are other forbideen things you are attracted? You attracted to animal sex (beastiality), incest and other stuff? It can also be a SEX addiction or something. Try posting this question in the psychology category or something. They might be able to give you a better answer.

perfectly normal. it is natural for humans to be curious about most everything--even if it doesn't exactly fit into your lifestyle or personal boundaries. i think your thoughts say a lot about you...sort of reflects an openmindedness...something i respect greatly. i think most anyone would be lying if they said they didn't think or fantasize about things (sexually oriented or not) that they wouldn't exactly act upon.
My advice: examine the content of your thoughts. are you thinking of other people? are you thinking about yourself participating? if you find that you are included in these thoughts, maybe you should consider giving it a whirl...you never know.

don't worry...your thoughts are your thoughts...sometimes i think that is why we have minds...to explore the things that we don't have time or guts to do in reality. besides a lot of things are much safer up there--ya know?

The only thing wrong is that you call your own thoughts forbidden, taboo, and wrong. Your thoughts are a part of you and as long as they are not harmful to others these thoughts should not be considered wrong. Your thoughts do not make you gay, and you should be honest to yourself about your attractions. Since you say you only think about this occasionally, I think you should instead concentrate on why you think other people's behavior is considered wrong and why you feel a need to label such behavior as forbidden, taboo, and wrong.
