People say that the holocaust deniers are trying to revise history so that the state of Israel is artificial and illegitimate. But what I'd like to know is, what on earth could the holocaust have to do with the state of Israel. Zionism existed as a concept before Nazism, and long before Adolf Hitler. How does a genocide against a people give that people the right to steal the land of another people, slaughter them, torture them, and imprison them without trial?

You people are sad... See my details, what I said about Hungary and China, do you see the similarity? No? *sigh* The Jews didn't even live there originally if we want to go that far back, according to their own writings they had to steal it from the Canaanites.

Abenezer: I would just like to point out that your answer has a number of factual inaccuracies. For one thing, the holocaust survivors didn't go to Israel and buy it from Lebanese landlords, there were Arabs there... They didn't just come out of nowhere. And two, Zionism didn't start after the holocaust, it started in the 1870s.

What, do you think that all these people lived in Palestine during Rome, and then during the time of the crusades, and then during the time of T.E. Lawrence's campaigns, and then all vanished just in time for the Jews to show up and claim an empty plot of land? I'm sorry sir, but most people have accepted that there was a Palestine before Zionism...

Sure Zionism existed as a concept before Nazism, but the Holocaust was the event that made Jews think that they need a homeland...And Palestine was at the wrong time, under the wrong mandate...
Israelis think they are entitled to to steal the land of another people, slaughter them, torture them because they used to suffer during WW2,and now they think they have the right to make anything to stop something like the Holocaust happen again...unfortunately they don't realize(or don't want to) that they are doing exactly the same thing to the Palestinians...
As for the reason that Jews lived there 2000 years ago,I could not care less...Let's all leave our lands and give it back to the ones that lived thousand years ago there...The Arabs controled that territory for the last centuries and creating Israel there was a wrong move...

Cannoli junkie,I agree with you,but I have a single objection.I don't think that the Jews are entitled to a homeland, just because of the Holocaust...By this principle let's give the gypsies too a homeland,'cos they were victims of Holocauts too(a few millions of them dies back then)...It's wrong for a religion to have its own country...and more there is no place we could find to create a country for someone. One way or another they would have occupied someone's land...And probably the same thing would have happen...It was wrong to create Israel in Palestine,as it would be wrong to create it in another place...

They are pretty sad. But it wasn't the Jews that stole Israel--it was America. When we destroyed the Ottoman empire we placed Israel smack dab in the middle of their ancestral enemies, and then loaded Israel up with nuclear weapons and sophisticated American weaponry; why we show such favoritism is beyond me. Just because the Jews wrote down that they owned it thousands of years ago doesn't mean they're entitled to it now. How many here would be in favor of an initiative handing the United States back to the Native Americans? Certainly we'd sympathize with that notion, considering the harm we've done those poor people, but we'd never agree to do that. Why, then, should the Arabian people born of Palestine be calm and passive about having their land stripped from them, and inhabited by their enemies?
To answer your question, Genocide is the justification we use, I presume, to spend so much money on Israel, and thus of course Iran would want to consider it a hoax in order to rouse its people against Israel.

The jews stole the Palestinians land in 1948 when illegal jewish immigrants from Europe forced the christian and muslim arabs to leave their villages or be massacred.
Since then the jewish terrorist state has imported people from the USA, Russia, Europe and the rest of the world as long as they can show that at least one grandparent was jewish and given them the lands of the Palestinians
There are some jews who are opposed to this practise but there will never be peace in the Middle East until the Palestinians can return to their land.
Some people apologize for the jews by saying they used to live there thousands of years ago. By that criterion Manhattan should be returned to the native americans

It is considering the fact that of the way in which the Jews had been slaughtered. Holocaust comes type the Greek phrase holokaustus, because of this to burn or devour by means of fireplace. Those others slaughters didn't make use of the manner of fireplace as did the Nazis.

Oh John, the wall these people have built up to keep their minds closed to the truth is bigger than the wall Israel has built in the West Bank to keep the Palestinians isolated and unable to travel in their own homeland freely. You are banging your own head against a brick wall. I am so sorry. I fully acknowledge that the holocaust took place and that 6 million Jews were wrongly murdered. And I also believe that they are entitled to a homeland of their own as recompense for the crimes committed against them during the war. But I also believe strongly in the rights of the Palestinians people to self determination and to be treated with respect and dignity. No matter how you look out it, two wrongs NEVER MAKE A RIGHT.

Perhaps brush up on his history and you'll find that the "palestinians" are the squatting leaches that came into the picture. Jews were in Israel since 1900 BCE, 2,522 years before Islam was even there. The arabs one day decided to come out of their holes in the arabian desert and claim the world for themselves. There were always Jews in Israel and the "occupation" doesnt exist. If anything, arabs occupy Jewish land by having their filthy cities be present there and breeding all the time. send the "palestinians" back to Jordan and Egypt -that'll bring peace I assure you.

that's easy, the few survivers of the holocaust, some of them moved to Israel, bought land from absent Lebanese landlords, started to cultivate it, and now that this land is productive, the Lebanese are trying to say the Israelis stole it from them, it ain't so, stop listening to neo Nazis propaganda

I think the land you are referring to belonged to the nation of Israel thousands of years ago. They are simply taking back what was stolen from them.
