sometimes guys do things like that ... buy gifts out of the blue .. he probally is scared ... guys are confusing i know us woman will never understand them .. my best bet is that he's scared... have a talk with him alone.. a serious talk .. dont argue and dont yell or curse it wont help the situation ... but just talk to him .. let him know you are ready to wed... who knows it may help out...

Well you've already screwed up by shacking up, thats not good for the kids. Its worse though for them to see you too playing house. Give him the ultimatum of either marrying you now, God knows you two and the kids can elope. Make it a family affair since that is what you have been playing anyway. I think you are just seeing that its not right to be pretending. You love each other, get married........forget the big old expensive party. Just get married! You have to ready though to leave with your kids and get a place on your own if he won't do it. If he sees you looking at apartments and such he'll know you're serious.

Work out the deal before you marry. Find out EXACTLY what his expectations are from you, & you make sure he knows EXACTLY what you expect from him.
I could list off a million things that are never considered by couples until AFTER the wedding, but it will be better if you decide just what's important to you. Usually the things that end up being the largest issues are things surrounding money. But if it's about housework, then so be it!
Make sure you have a plan worked out, & if you can't work it out before the big day comes, then put the wedding on hold until you do work out EVERYTHING.

Best of luck to you both!
Good Luck!

Why not propose to him?

That seems like a crappy answer, I know - and many women dream of the day that their man will get down on one knee and pop the question that will make their heart stop. But if you feel the same love and devotion and are ready to spend the rest of your life with him, as a TEAM, and make this thing work, then you should be able to do the same.

Hell, you already have the rings. :-D

Buena suerte!

Something about this doesn't feel right to me.

Treating you badly, cancelling the wedding, now buying you things....it's just sounds off.

With children involved I wouldn't be in such a rush to marry this guy.

A piece of paper is not what makes a marriage....there is so much more involved and it doesn't sound like he's ready.
