Okay, I think this in the wrong category but you made that mistake because you weren't focused. Anyway, you might consider meditation. It's milleniums old. Jackie Chan does it. You liked "Rush Hour" right? There's lots of techniques and lots of info about it on the net. Here's the simplest. Sit on a comfy cushion on the floor with your legs crossed in front of you. With your hands make the "O.K" sign. Rest the backs of your hands on or near your knees with your palms facing up. Close your eyes. Focus on your breathing. Breathe only through your nose.
No matter what happens don't stop. It's inevitable that your mind will wander. When it does, bring it back to just your breathing. Get a timer and do this for ten minutes twice a day. Morning is the best. Great way to start your day with a clear head. It's surprisingly hard to think of nothing for ten minutes. It takes practice. All of the eastern religions and philosophies strongly encourage meditation. But it needn't be a religious thing. It sure as hell isn't for me. But it may help you. Try it. All you've got to lose is ten minutes.

Finish all loose ends. If you start something finish it...

it sounds kinds of simple but finishing tasks is the best way to stay focused.
