my sister shops almost exclusively at second hand thrift shops like Savers, and I can't tell you how chic and fashionable she looks on a regular basis. the trick for her is she frequents these stores CONSTANTLY. like every day or every other day she'll stop by just to see if there is anything new. she also has less items of clothing than i do, but she mixes and matches the same things in different combinations. she's gotten the cutest clothes i've ever seen there. you have to be flexible in your thinking too. she bought a fitted velvet blazer at Savers that came from Gap Kids size XXL, but it totally fit her tiny frame. she wears it with skinny jeans, leather flats that she paid $5 for, and an arm full of cool gold bangles that she paid $1 for. the key is persistence. tj maxx is also another good one, but you have to keep checking back.

Your question isn't very specific, but try shopping at cheap places like Kohls, Ross, Sears, etc. Even if the clothes are dorky, you can make them cute! For example, take a simple t-shirt, then cut it to turn it into a cute wife beater, tank top, or even braided-strap tank top! With jeans, buy no-named ones from the same stores. If you really want to splurge, go to Hollister, where they have very high quality $50 jeans. Another idea for clothes is the $15 store. Everything there is 15 dollars, and they sell EVERYTHING. Sweats, jeans, blouses, dresses, jewelry - they have everything there. Go to 15dollarstore.com and sometimes they have designer clothes like Jessica Simpson fashion line.

Hope it helps, and good luck!

Buy simple, cheap clothing and layer. People don't look stylish when they wear something that makes them stand out. No frills or clothing with writing. Look at pictures of models in high-end clothing and copy their style without having to buy their clothes.
Simple + Layers = Stylish
