My mum said it was based off on of Shakespeare's plays but she doesn't know which one. I was just curious. The movies is "'Never Been Kissed" starring Drew Barrymore.

it is loosley based on Shakespeare's "As You Like It". Its the play that, in the movie, Mr. Coulson is teaching in english class.

Loosely based on Shakespeare's "As You Like It." Mr. Coulson is teaching this play in Josie's English class. Also, Josie and Guy dress up as Rosaline and Orlando for prom; the main couple in the play.

I believe that it is most inspired by As you Like it. There is a mention of this during the scene in which Drew's character, Josie, is in her English Lit. class. BTW, I love this movie and every year I watch it once. My favorite seen is the end...it's romantic. Michael Vartan is hot.
