You have two weeks left, so your baby could still drop. Try not to worry, and do some walking to try and help things out. You could actually go into labor even though the baby's head has not fully engaged. This happened to me with my second one, and let me just say that the "water-breaking" experience was quite interesting. :)

Everybody is different. My niece never dropped for my SIL and she ended up overdue and had a C-section. My daughter never dropped for me either, but I did end up 3 1/2 cm dialted and at the hospital. So you may just have a different experience. Just relax and enjoy the time you have before the baby comes. Take lots of showers, read some good books, sleep a lot, etc. All of this you won't get to do for much longer! :)

Hello,
I had my first child three years ago this coming February. I worked until five days before my due date, thinking that it would help her come into this world a little faster. to my profound disbelief i had her 1 day late and was in labor for 43 hours.
Meaning i went in on a Wednesday morning and had her on a Friday morning.
THEY SAY YOUR FIRST TAKES THE LONGEST
My advice to you would be that you have just try to relax and allow nature to take it's course.
Don;t worry if you become more that one and a half weeks past due they will either induce your labor or give you a c- section.
Use this little bit of time you have left and relax.
GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS

I'm due December 26, 1 week before you, and mine still hasn't dropped. However, I'm dilated 3 CM, lost my mucus plug, and I'm having regular contractions, just not strong enough or consistent enough to constitute labor. So, I'm right here with you. Sometimes the baby doesn't drop until labor begins.

Calm down and relax. This is a birth, not a mechanical process. All pregancies progress slightly differently. All "norms" are only rules of thumb. The due date may have been off somewhat. Maybe the baby is just turning slower. There could be a lot of reasons, all of them perfectly natural. I know it's a pain waiting, but (as tiresome as it may sound) it will all be over soon.

the baby usually doesn't drop until you are in hard labor and dilated. He/she will drop a little bit but not a whole lot until you've been laboring. Try walking:stairs, mall, around the house. also, take a bath, slide into the water so your nipples are covered and then play with them, this helps stimulate the hormones into starting labor. Worked with my second one. Also, have sex, there is a hormone in the sperm that helps the cervix to dilate. Hope this helps.

My son didn't drop! He rested high up in my uterus until active labor began. I was actually about 7 cm dialated before he began to descend. As long as your baby is head down I wouldn't worry, your contractions will work him down. If you are really getting impatient, next week, if you don't want a natural labor, it should be safe to be induced.

Your baby can drop anywhere from weeks before to the day of delivery. Just be patient, he will come when he is ready.
Both of my kids didn't drop until I went into labor.

Don't worry about it...
I was prego for 10 months with my first!
It happens. Do you really blame the kid for not wanting to come out? Look around!
