that the wealthy have an obligation of any kind to "give back" anything to the rest of the world.

I don't think they have an obligation but I think government has an obligation to tax those with the most money to provide the services those without that money have. On the other hand, we should support those who do have money and use it to better this world, as some do.
we need a change from income tax to a tax on proffit regardless of where an object is made or where the home offices are and we would all be better off!!

That would be a no. Recent statistics show that just 2% of the world's population holds the riches of the world. The other 98% hold the poor part of the world.

I think if these 2% of people were to give more money, not even to people in hand, but to projects that can better enhance people's lives and make them richer and healthier, I think we would be better.

The rich have as much obligation to "give" as we all do. Americans spent 2.5 billion dollars on pet toys this year and 1 billion dollars on anti-wrinkle creams, and I doubt they were all "rich" americans spending that money wastefully.

definately not - just take a look at all the starving people still in this world - if all the rich people in the world gave just a small amount of what they earn - Im sure poverty could slowly become a thing of the past
