I WOULD HAVE TO SAY EMMIT SMITH. You could drive a truck through there o-line. If only BARRY SANDERS had the same line. He would have doubled the rushing record.

I agree. Emmitt Smith had the best O-line through his time in the league. John Riggins had a pretty good one as well, with the Hogs. I'd say those were probably the 2 best examples of a running back whose carrer was greatly enhanced by his O-line.

I'd Second Emmitt Smith. Terrell Davis had a great line & system with Denver. And Jerome Bettis's Steeler lines where pretty good.

You guys are all wrong. Emmitt Smith was a great running back who was made to look better by a good offensive line.
However, for a mediocre running back to look really good by his offensive line, you have to get in the way-back machine to John Riggins and the 1983 Washington Redskins.
Riggins was so slow, he couldn't get out of his own way. Somehow or another, however, the Hogs made him look like Bo Jackson

IT would have to be Emmitt Smith. He was a good back, but without those monsters he had blocking for him most of his career, he would not have had the numbers he did.

I agree. Emmitt Smith. Just think if Barry Sanders would have had that line?! He would have left those nfl records in the dust.

Emmit Smith! I could have been a pro bowl back behind that line. They will be the only o line that every member makes it to the hall of fame.

Jim Brown had an underrated line at Cleveland, and Eric Dickerson had a really good line with the Rams.
