This is an intriguing question, but is flawed with the presumption that I feel trapped in another gender's body. I am a man, I like being a man, and have 0% interest in being a woman. Just because I am attracted to other men does not make me not want to be a man myself.

I suppose it's possible but as far as I know the majority of gays and Lesbians don't feel as though they are trapped in the opposite gender's body. Perhaps if you look a bit farther into the past lives theory, being gay may have resulted from the karma of being horribly oppressive toward either the opposite sex or toward a Gay/Lesbian person in a past life, throwing a child who revealed themselves to be gay out of the house/family, harassing someone unmercifully, and so on... I don't believe being the opposite gender in a past life would make you homosexual in this one simply because I don't believe that the spirit(or soul) has a gender. From what I have learned all challenges in this life are a direct result of actions and failures in our past lives.

Great question! Yes, I believe that in some cases homosexuality is the result of being the opposite sex in a previous life. However this is not always the case. Some people become homosexual because of traumatic experiences (PTSD). Some people become homosexual because it's "cool" (alot of teens do this). Personally, I am bisexual and I have been that way since I can remember. But, my mom is a butch lesbian, so that may have something to do with it, I don't know. Now my mom has always had sexual indentity issues and I believe that with her it is a combination of Past-Life Interferance and PTSD from childhood abuse.

I don't personally believe in past lives, at all, or in a god, for that matter. And it's not all that many gays or lesbians who feel they'd rather be the other gender. Most of the gay people I know, at least, love being who and what they are.

I know my spirit is female. Plus my last life I was "daddy's little girl" in the early 1800's. I'm sure the feelings I have for wanting that kind of attention from men comes from this past life... Some sadness comes when I realize that I may never be able to recreate relationships in this life time like I once had in that life time.

No, been a lesbian, gay, bisexual, etc is a matter of decision, if past life got something to do with it, Why don't you see people thinking they are a cow or a pig or a chicken, etc? Past lives means that you may reincarnate in other thing totally the opposite in what you were in that past life. So if you were a cow in a past life you suppose to feel thinking you are a cow in this life that you reincarnated in a person.

Being lesbian or gay doesn't mean you feel "trapped in another gender's body" that's if you are transgendered. Being gay means you feel like your gender, but your sexual preference is towards your own gender. It has nothing to do with feeling unlike your gender.
