A philosopher named Descartes came up with what are referred to as the "Indubitable Truths." This is where the saying "I think therefore I am" comes from. Basically, if you believe something then it is true that you believe it. That may sound dumb, but if you think about it, you can prove a lot of things with that. For example, you can prove that you exist. Do you ever wonder if your whole life is a dream or if we're all merely puppets. If you think you exist, then it must be true at least your mind exists because if it didn't then you couldn't think. That's going back to the whole "I think therefore I am" truth. Think about it for awhile, maybe look it up to read more about it because I'm not sure how well I explained it, but I think it's really interesting once you understand what he's saying.

Belief and faith are seperate concepts. Thus religion should be left out of this question. No, just because you believe something does not make it true. I used to believe I could fly if I just tried hard enough. (when I was 6) never flew. I believe things that people tell me, but that doesn't mean that it is true.

Let me put it this way: If I believe in something strongly and truly , then I have found that things happen to support our belief.
There is a thing called "auto suggestion" which is the same thing as reinforcement of our belief. Auto suggetion is a very strong motivational force( "I can do this" I can make it happen") . Whenever I try this I find that I am able to se signs , on the way, that I would have otherwise overlooked.A hint, a tip there , a supporting hand , all seem to appear as if there are all trying to make things come true.
I request you to try this. But try this on something that is feasible but eludes you. In other words donot try this for your trip to the moon.

no. just because you believe or hold strong opinions about it, doesn't actually mean you can influence and persuade every person to go along with it. and plus, there are certain things that you just cannot prove that doesn't no longer exists in real life- likewise god or jesus. if a person believes in jesus, god whomever and believes that he is alive in their eyes then so be it. but by proving something that does not actually exist out there in human form in the real world is another matter altogether. though i'm not saying that jesus and god never existed: of course they did- way before us humans of today were born on this planet

Your mind makes anything true as long as you believe in it. Just as when you hear the word "house" the image of a house comes to your mind immediately, when you believe in something, you create it and it belongs to YOUR reality, regardless if it exists in the concrete world.

It can be bio feed back to positive thinking in a constructive state of mind. If it is a blatant lie to begin with and you are lying to yourself it is a lie. What is truth do you know? How firmly do you believe, do you know? Who knows you better than yourself? Do you know you? Answer these questions and then answer your own question and see what you come up with.....I wonder?

no. truth is independent of our believe. that's why it is so important to know how to tell what is true. The only way is to seek the author of truth, who happens to be God.

Truth is a perception of what we know and see.
What we know to be true is only what we believe to be true.
Anything that you hold to be truth and not have it in actual existence is delusional.
