Check with local Churches,Lions Club,Chamber of Commerce office, but it is really getting down to the wire so not sure how many will still be able to help anyone. Most have a deadline of when you can apply. I am sorry you have no money for food (go to a food bank) and for gifts, just being together sometimes is enough. Have you check with the school or daycare your child attends? (no idea how old the child is)

I agree with the Mr. & Mrs. You never know anyone's situation and people need to lighten up and not be so judgemental. After all, it is Christmas. Go to anyone you can.; local churches and organizations out there set up to help people this time of year. I wish you the best for you and your child right now and I will say a prayer that you get some help. Thank you Ronin.. Thank all the good people in ths world. God Bless You All!!!

Check out your local charities like the Salvation Army or Toys for Tots. They both collect gifts or money to help out those in need this time of year. It is unfortunate that it is only at Christmas but I would really check them out.
If you haven't already, contact your Social Services office to see about getting some kind of aid for food, like food stamps or a local food pantry for some. Your local food pantry hands out free food to those that need it. It may not be what you like but it is food. Good luck and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Try your local Salvation Army citadel, As well as your local Food Bank. Also see if your community has a Santa Claus Fund.
Also some churches host a community Christmas Dinner that is free.

I'm in the same position you are, and two things keep coming to my mind:
1. The greatest gift I can give my children at Christmas time is my love.
2. Try to check out dollar stores and thrift shops.
I really wish I could help you, but like I said I'm in the same boat you are. I really hope some wonderful secret santa out there helps you out.

Find a food shelter, or food bank to get food. An spend it with your kid. Nothing better on Christmas then family, and food.

You do the best with what you have and use the oppurtunity to discuss the true spirit of the holiday... I had Christmases that were huge, and I had some where we had 3 gifts from the dollar store, but it was the love that meant something to me......

What's wrong with gifts you make?
See all that aluminum people throw everywhere? (Fifty-eight cents a pound! Any roadside has plenty!)
Why does Christmas ALWAYS HAVE to be about getting?

Go to your local church and see if you can get on the Angel Tree list. You can also volunteer for a neighbor or something to do some work around their house for some cash.
