Well depending on what they are of. It sounds like you have some unresolved issues in the back of your head. If you resolve the issues, then they will go away.

Sounds to me like it is an anxiety dream, particularly since you said they are different but related. Anxiety dreams can revolve around any situation, and are very normal.

ocean is life giving, life taking, and a conduit. Sounds like it's time for a change in your life and you are fighting it.
My last ocean tidal wave dream involved one of my best friends.
We were both getting in higher and higher and losing sight of land and sky! I told her it was time to go back, we held hands, and wahlah! it was over...
In waking life, I was seriously offended by her, looks like I needed to let bygones be bygones, and no, I'm not mad at her anymore.
