The way we connect two computers using LAN cable ,can we do the same using two wireless LAN cards. Please help .Me and my friend have Intel PROset wireless lan cards fixed in our laptops.

i haven't heard of the ability of 2 lan cards communicating data, why not use a cable?

No......... wireless LAN cards are like end users... accesspoint knows how to provide a connection to the end users....
As a suggestion you can use BLUETOOTH (wireless again) if both laptops support it.

This isn't difficult at all. What you need to do is configure an "ad-hoc" network. This enables computers to talk to each other without the use of an access point. It works for both wired and wireless devices.

firefox15 is right. XP's built in wireless service should allow you to connect this way with the default settings.
