Genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who dont smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle.

EMO is short for emotional. For music it is a way to show your deepest emotions and as for the style that just came a long with it. Some like the tight pants and the studded belts and say that is emo but everyone these days can say they are emo.

Emo is the new goth. Thats what a lot of highschool kids like to get into. Its generally depressing music with lots of screaming and fuzzy chords. I personally think its prettty annoying. Emo kids like to sport bad hair doos, tight jenes, converse gym shoes and atleast one or more piericngs. Tattoes are a strong possibility. Look for the latest emo gear at you local area spencers soon.

It's a really emotional style and type of music. I think it's really something trendy with teens right now. The kids might dress really dark and are all like "oh, why does everything suck so bad"...it's really silly. The music is very similar to that.
