Until the McCarthey era the socialist party was one of the largest parties in the US
In 1912 They ran a canidate for president that almost won!
This was quite an accomplishment for a man running from a jail cell!
The republican party had Eugene Debs arrested for sedition because he led a strike against an Employer who was a big donor to the Repulican party!

I think that if there had not been 100 years of Right wing socialist bashing and people actually litened to what they said, and the socialists themselves were a mite more moderate in their beliefs then alot of people would see what they want as being very attractive

You don't really see much from them.
Given the histories of countries adopting this as a political system, whether electively or through coercion, I don't believe socialism can work.

Socialism sounds very good on paper, unfortunately when it runs into real life it turns into an impossible pipe dream.
