Brands like that are geared towards and usually bought by certain groups by race, age, location, etc.
If I told you a person wears Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch, you'd probably get a different mental picture than if I told you a person wears Rocawear and Baby Phat. It's not necessarily stereotyping like some other people were saying, it's just more common that people of certain cultures will wear certain types or brands of clothes.
But if someone associates a brand of clothes with a certain type of personality like people shopping at Hollister being stuck up, that's wrong and the person should probably keep their mouth shut, lol.

The world is too hung up on brand names. There should be less judgement for what you put on your body as long as you are clean and neat that is what is important. You might think that your clothes are inexpensive, but to someone who has to shop in a thrift shop they might think they are expensive. Compared to Donald Trump's clothes, they are problably cheap; so it is all in the perspective from where someone is coming from, you see. It is easy enough to get, I think, Why do you feel a need to shop exclusively at those stores? You need to ask yourself this question? Does it make you feel better than them? Why don't you give those clothes away to some poor people and start all over again. Talk to these people, get a feel for how they live and what their standards are. You will be a better person for it.

Ah, high school.
These are just clothes. People need to grow up, seriously. Stop telling people what brand you wear.
Abercrombie's ads reflect the attitude associated with the brand. Get people to know you, not your clothes.
This is too stupid to even comment, sorry...

I think that because they think that they are big and bad and that they can afford to by brand name items they think that they are better than every one thus that is where the bittiness begins

Because that's what preppy kids wear, so if you wear it you are called preppy, it's actually pretty simple. And yes they are expensive, my jeans cost $11.99 and my shirts are 4 for $20.
