yep, and it sucked. i could tell you stories, but it would bum you even further. we all live and die, laugh and cry. and a hundred years from now (or less) it all won't really matter. that squirrel went to squirrel heaven and is now chasing his nuts....

Oh, yes, I know the feeling you have. If I see a squirrel darting across the road, I just stop because they get in the middle of the road and could decide to go either direction so, I really wait until they have crossed. I learned my lesson about that. Just keep in mind, squirrels are not the brightest creatures concerning automobiles. We have some black squirrels that live in the trees and they had babies this past Spring. Half of them gray, the rest black. I had never seen a black one until I moved to this part of the country.

I accidentally hit a dog that way and I will never get the thump sound out of my head.

You just revealed your compassionate nature and I applaud you for that. Some people run them down on purpose. They even call them "tree rats."

I do. Sometimes I try to turn around and see if they're okay, but for some reason whoever is in the car w/ me keeps telling me to keep on driving. I hate it, I always feel so bad and I scream right before...which is kind of funny. One time, the most horrible thing happened. I was dating this guy and he ran over a little kitten. We didn't kill it though right away b/c i don't think we actually ran over the whole thing. Anyways, the way this guy reacted made me even more attracted to him b/c he felt so bad...i think he even almost cried and this guy is usually really "tough" We went back later to see if it was okay but unfortunatley the cute little guy was dead :(...it was the saddest thing ever!!!! and it ruined the day for both of us!!

I felt large up till i develop into about 7-8 weeks or so, then felt like crap rather a lot on a daily basis till i develop into 14 weeks. Now i'm 29 weeks and am beginning to experience like crap all yet again! sturdy success - i desire its only a "undesirable day" for now. (even no matter if it truly is the start of morning disease, it is going to bypass.)

I once ran over a big caterpillar and I cried my heart out because I kept thinking that it would never become a butterfly.

I ran over a roadrunner. I cried for nearly an hour, then I couldn't stop thinking about it, I felt like I had murdered someone.

I try to swerve to avoid hitting the animal because like you say, it's very upsetting. I'm sure he's resting in peace in squirrel heaven. Have a good evening.

it was there time to go. when it comes to wild ignorant animals that dont know any better i figure its gods way of animal control. i know that sounds harsh, but maybe that will make you feel better. one time i hit one of 2 very happy playing dogs where one ran out in front of my car. the other dog that seen his friend hit was very sad. that still bothers me to this day.

call me cold hearted, but i think if an animal is hit by a car going 65 mph, it's not the driver's fault. id rather hit and kill an animal than to total loss my truck trying to swerve. if i can help it and if i feel that i'm not going to wreck , then i will try to avoid creating roadkill. i my opinion, my life is more important to me than an animals'.
go ahead and thumbs-down my answer....it's still my opinion and i'm entitled to it whether anyone else agrees with it or not.
