Don't panic...stop and think. Did you miss your period last month?
If so...take an at home pregnancy test ASAP. The pill should not affect the results. If it's positive, then stop the pills and make a prenatal appointment.
If not, then this is what's happening...
IF the pill failed, then you ovulated about two weeks after the first day of your period. That would have been about one week ago. This is about the time you would have had to have unprotected sex. You would only be a few days along because it takes a few days for ovulation, fertilization, and implantation. Don't stop taking your pills over the chance that you MIGHT be pregnant. Wait until you get a positive EPT, which you can take the day you are supposed to start your period. If it's positive, then you're only going to be two weeks pregnant. If you can't wait that long, talk to your doc. If he or she is concerned, they can order a blood pregnancy test, which is very accurate at only a few days after implantation.
Honestly, there is minimal risk to the baby if you are pregnant and still taking the pill, as long as you stop taking them when you miss a period. Otherwise, women would be stopping the pill the third week of each pack if they have unprotected sex...kinda the opposite of the pill's purpose. Don't stress too much...nerves can affect your period, too. Good luck to you and Blessings...
By the way, my sister in law was three months pregnant before she found out, and took the pill the whole time. There were no complications at all.
One word of advice, and please pass this on to everyone you know that's on the pill...
The most common reason for failed oral contraceptives is taking antibiotics!! Whenever you get a prescription, be sure to use a backup method until you complete the next pack of pills...just to be safe.
Blessings

I myself am living proof you can get pregnant on birth control. Im 18 and I married my husband in March of this year. I have been on birth control and even the shot within the last 9 months (it lingers in your system a long time) Anyway, here I am 5 weeks pregnant. It's not a 100% effective unfortunately science will never trump mother nature. If your symptoms persist, go to your doctor and express your concerns.

normally the last week of pills when you are supposed to get your period are placebo's..(sugar pills) meant to keep you in the habits of taking you pills. regarding the possibility that you may be pregnant yes birth control can hurt your baby.. birth-control is meant to make the fertilized embryo not able to attach to the walls of the uterus so it could make the lining of the uterus thin or prevent the placenta from attaching witch could kill the embryo.. i would consult your doctor and get a professional pregnancy test that way you can be more sure of what is hap pining.. if you can go tomorrow before taking your (pill) that way you minimize the damage that could occur..best of luck!

yes if you are pregnant, the pills will hurt the baby. you need to stop taking them. but on a second note, if you were taking them every day you probably arent pregnant.

Yes, you need to suspend the contraceptive immediately (if you can't see the Doctor anytime soon. Like tomorrow!)and see if you can get a pregnancy test from the drug store. You also may want to stop having intercourse till you have confirmation either way.
