I have no idea, I got some nice clothes for my husband last year and he didn't like them. Hasn't worn them since. x(
I'd say go with something he really likes. If he has a hobby or something get him a book about that. A gift certificate is always a Plan B ;)

I have always enjoyed it when my girlfriend got me something that she liked and she wanted me to wear. Clothing or cologne are both good choices. Just find something that you really like and if you explain that to him he will be more than willing to wear it. When he wears it he will feel great knowing that you think he is attractive.
