I didn't believe it when a neighbor told me & my sister that there was no Santa. Once I did believe it I was disappointed but not with my parents. I hate to admit it but I was 10 & old enough to accept it. (kids were more innocent longer back then in the 50's) I never did believe in the Easter Bunny.

I was an only child. I believed forever I think. I have 2 boys. They are at the stage where they don't believe, but then again, are not sure. Now I have to figure out which gift(s) Santa brought.
How much does Santa bring $ value these days?

When I found out I was mad because I thought parents told this lie to their kids to have a laugh. It really hurt at the time because I was always writing letters to santa each year. I felt embarrased and ashamed for being childish yet I was only 8!
I absolutely refuse to do this to my kids. I'll explain all about santa and that but I won't pretend he is real.

well, i kind of figured Santa out, but it still left me hurt and confused when he died, now what are you saying about Easter Bunny. I know he is getting old and like many celebrities in their later years has had to take roles in advertising (flogging a line of batteries) but he still just keeps going and going.

Actually, I was relieved. I did not think they were real, but whenever I asked people, they kept telling me that these things were real - and that is confusing when you are just a little kid. It took me a few more years to understand that God fit into the same category because I wasn't getting a straight answer from adults about that either.

My parents taught me the real meaning of all the religious holidays therefore I never went through the disappointment of believing a lie. Christmas is Jesus birth and Easter is Jesus death and resurrection, it was never any of the counterfeit for me. Thank God for wise parents.

I was disappointed, and mad at my mom and dad for lying to me, I found out at the age of 6, and when my brother heard at 5, he went and told everyone at school the truth

well... i figured it out when i was around 9, as sad as it is. i felt betrayed, and how my parents had lied to me for my whole life. later on i found out that it was just to make me happy, my parents dont know that i dont believe anymore, so i just play along.
