Don't Tell A Joke! Whatever you do!! Don't do that! Especially if you know compared to them that your sense of humour is as limp as a wet rag during a monsoon.
Laugh at all their jokes, encourage them to tell their favourite, when you meet new people with them get them to say a funny story. Encourage them, stroke the old ego and hey! You'll have their attention. If you're really smart, or really good at something else, bring that to their attention by doing it in front of them...
but no public sex. Thats bad.

show interest in them and give them a compliment on their appearance...usually those who are clever in the sense of humor department have low self esteem or don't think much of themselves..the humor is covering up their low self worth.
