For my brother, who's 12, I'm planning on getting the following books:

1. Can Adults Become Human by Jim Benton
2. Eragon
3. The Lightening Thief (Books 1 and 2) by Rick Riordan

If you've read any of these books, PLEASE let me know if they're OK. Especially Eragon because I've heard many mixed reviews. Also, if you know any other FUNNY books that're decent for 12 year olds, PLEASE let me know.

Somewhere deep inside of you, you felt that these books were the ones that your brother may be interested in....You know your brother's likes/dislikes more than most people (you live with him!)

Finally, it is up to your brother if he does or not......not someone else.....You just need to concentrate on your kindness and thoughtfulness towards your brother....some people don't like their brother....He should be thankful he has a good sister like you!

Biotech Boy is right but if you're really not sure your brother is going to like the books you pick, why not use the money on a book voucher instead? You could go to the bookstore with your brother when he wants to use the voucher and make a day of it - spend some time together.

If he's a 12 year old boy (who likes to read) then he'll love Eragon. Trust me, I was 12 once.

A trilogy that would be wonderful for him: His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman. The books, in order, are:
The Golden Compass
The Subtle Knife
The Amber Spyglass
They're fantastic!!!

Eragon is just fine... remember that the author Christopher Paolini wrote it when he was a teen, so of course it's suitable for a 12-year-old.
