I don't believe Marcus Camby was involved. He was a bystander. The Nuggets were being bad sports by running up the score in a game in which they were leading by 19 at the time the fight broke out and showing off with alley-oops and windmills with a little unfer 2 minutes to play. The Knicks didn't like this too much so they decide to commit a hard foul instead of let them get another flashy dunk at their expense.
So, the others have it right but here are some names. Mordy Collins fouled JR Smith as he was breaking away for a layup. Smith began jawing at Collins and Nate Robinson stupidly jumped in and instigated things. Carmelo Anthony came in and shoved Robinson right before Smith tackles Robinson and the two go flying into the front rows, wrestling as the fans clear out (not gettting involved). As the debackle is dying down, Anthony sucker-punches Collins and Jared Jeffries chases Anthony all the way down the floor before he is tackled by a Nuggets player and several others try to restrain him.

The Nuggets were already winning the game against the Knicks on a blowout and instead of George Karl pullling out his best players in the final minutes he left his best players in the game...the Nugget's players in the meantime showed off on the Knicks floor essenstially embarrassing them at home...this angered Isiah Thomas who threatens both Camby and Anthony while shooting a free throw.."don't go to the basket"....well as soon as JR Smith is on a break away and then the Knicks Mardy Collins grabs him by the neck to stop the shot..this angered JR Smith all the players come over and a melee ensues that spills over into the crowd...soon after order was restored Carmelo Anthony fires a sucker punch at Collins and then the refs ask to have the floor cleared to restore order...

The Knicks were the home team and losing by about 20 with very little time left but the nuggets were leaving their starters in running up the score, the Knicks felt this was poor sportsmanship and didnt want to get shown up on their home court. A very rough foul was committed by one of the Knicks players, not sure which, and a fight developed which eventually ended up involving only the players on the court at the time, the benches were for the most part restrained, and the crowd did not become involved. Most of the players who were involved entered originally as peace makers, got hit and got mad and started hitting. This is unfortunate but what do you expect when you encourage egotism and hyper competitiveness in these players?

The rookie Mardy Collins of the Knicks layed a cheap flagrant foul on JR Smith cause he was about to throw down on him again. He grabbed him by his neck when JR was gonna dunk on him on threw him to the ground. JR got mad and stood up to him then everyone got involved. Nate Robinson took on JR which caused them to spill into the crowd. Then Melo layed a cheap shot on Collins and ran off.

I would be pissed if the Nuggets were on for a long time trying to embrassed the Knicks even though it may look like Nuggets had a disadvantage but the fight should had just stopped at the time JR Smith was down... JR Smith shouldn't be pushing a little man down like Nate Robinson.... Carmelo Anthony well he shouldn't done that since he like nba leading scorer right now but how come you say that Melo punch gave cheap shot come on he put the guy down with just one punch/slap and his team mate look more like he was pulling Melo away... Melo stepped back and it look like the other guy from the Knicks just tried run into Melo that was a good idea but then he kept walking back because that guy was still kept trying to run him down or something but that other guy just wanted to push Melo down because he knows one punch/slap can't take Melo down.... but both sides still shouldn't have fought come on my two favourite players there Carmelo Anthony and Nate Robinson.one more thing basketball is fun but you still have to be serious with your opponent ,dunking around and spinning that not even funny to me not playing serious is one thing that makes me angry.

I saw the entire video clip on espn.com
To me, the two coaches are most responsible for the brawl; George Karl for keeping his stars in to run up the score and humiliate Isiah Thomas for dumping Karl's buddy Larry Brown, and Thomas for ordering his players to assault any Nugget who drove to the hoop. That flagrant foul WAS an assault.
