NO! Telling a lady that the pants she's wearing makes her butt look as large as a dump truck, would be far more dangerous than telling her how much you like her in those other pants. Truth is good, Tact is better.

It depends on the situation and the person. Some things need to be dealt with, with class and tact. But some people only respond to the blunt truth.

They say Honesty is the best policy. Sometimes the truth hurts someone, but you tell the truth because know that it is right. And you are probably trying to help that person not hurt them. And depending on what it is you need to think of a nice way to tell them so it won't hurt them to much.

I think so. My rule is, I don't ask the question if I don't want to hear an honest (sometimes blunt) answer. I respect others enough to treat them with the same level of honesty.

I've recently (and I do mean recently) come to realize that is spot-on. While I've always had a respect for the truth, my recent experience proves that point beyond a shadow of a doubt.

it depends, if the truth is going to help the person than I say tell the truth. but if you are just doing it to be mean then it's better to say nothing at all. ( you know like your mom use to say if don't have anything nice to say then say nothing.)

i think truth can be relative. and at times it may be more considerate to hold off the blunt truth. as it may come at the expense of someone's innocence, or someone's feelings.

I have often been accused of being too blunt... but my attitude is, if you don't want the truth, don't ask me...
