If it were any other team in the league I would have to say I would sign the guy in the draft with the most talent and that is GT's Calvin Johnson. But being that we are talking about Detroit I would pick up Brady Quinn. They haven't had a decent quarterback in ages and I would take my chances on Quinn. Besides Detroit has picked up wide receivers in the past who have just not lived up to all of the hype that surrounded them, Charles Rodgers and Mike Williams. I would pick Brady Quinn up in the draft #1 overall. Then I would sign some proven free agent wide receivers to join Roy Williams... oh yea then I would fire Matt Millen and get a new GM.

I'm not sure why people are giving Brady Quinn so much hype. Notre Dame hasn't developed a quality qb since Montana. That's a school that just dosn't develope qb's. If I were the gm of the Lions. I'd trade my pick and move down a few spots in the draft. And than draft a qb. But not Brady Quinn. A friend of mine works in the media. And people aren't really high on Brady Quinn. If they get the #1 or #2 pick. There are always teams that want to trade up. So I'd trade that pick to the 5-10 pick range. And pickup more picks. And a possible pick for next year.

Probably Brady Quinn.
That being said, unless they make other MAJOR changes in Detroit, he's going to have the same fate Joey Harrington did: terrible in Detroit but gets good somewhere else.
They need a defense, offensive line and a running back. However, if given the chance, unless there is a great quarterback available in free agency, I'd go with Quinn. Get a good quarterback and you know the type of player you're going to build around. Also, you give him a chance to learn the NFL while you draft other quality players. When the QB starts to really produce, you should his support.

Aaron Curry. He tried out and expressed he would like to help turn around the Lions. Even if Matthew Stafford is the next Johnny Unitas, they won't win more than 2 games with a defense that doesn't pressure the QB and allows 170 yards per game. A leader in defense is by far the Lions most pressing need.

No one can say at this point because first of all they have to be awarded the first pick in the draft. Then second if they do have the top pick, who knows? Look at this years draft... everyone, including myself thought Reggie Bush was #1. Then out of the blue the Texans picked Mario Williams. So basically you never can tell. With a team like the Lions with so many holes, you never know.

Most likely Brady Quinn. He was picked as the first pick in the upcoming draft by SI and a few mock draft websites.

At this point, it looks like Brady Quinn. The Lions don't have a QB of the future(unless you count Orlovsky) and Quinn is sitting at the top of many draft boards.

If I were the GM for the Lions, I'd grab the best offensive or defensive lineman available with the first pick. Football starts and ends on the line of scrimmage.
