If your baby is only congested, nothing serious, then just call the doctor and ask if he/she recommends Baby Vicks. NOT regular Vicks, but Baby Vicks. But do call a doctor first, because 7 months is a very young age.

I never felt like I could apply it to my son's skin when he was that little so what I did was rub a little bit into the material on the shoulders of his pj's. That way he could eat it or lick it or rub it in his eyes, but it was close enough for him to breathe in the vapors.

That, and if she's not too much of a roller when she sleeps, see if you can tilt her mattress up so that she's sleeping on an angle.

ALSO - try some baby Simply Saline, you can find it at WalMart or your grocery store drug aisle. It's a very gentle saline mist that you spray up their nose with their head tilted to the side (this is a 2 person operation) And she will scream because she will HATE the way it feels, but the saline waters down and breaks up the congestion and it will run out her little nose and help her breathe more easily.

No. It's been recommended by doctors not to use Vicks Vapor on infants. But what I did with my 1 year old before we got a humidifier I used an oil burner and burned eucaluptus. It helped. I put it in her room about an hour before she went to bed and blew it out about an hour later. Use it for a few nights to notice a difference.

no it is not a good idea they have baby vicks rub at the drug store just for them.Even with the baby vicks rub make sure in the morning you take a warm wash rag and wipe there chest down to get it off,Because if you don't you will open up there pores and can make them even more sick.put a loose shirt on the baby before you put your child to bed to let the vicks breath.Good Luck.

You need to take the baby to the doctor first to see why she is congested. You should ask the doctor to see if that is okay to use vapor rub on her.

Normal Vick's is too strong for a baby. That's why they have made special Vick's for babies. I use baby balsam on my 2 1\2 yr old. But if you have any more queries go and see your doctor or local chemist.

I used it on I my 8 month about 1.5 weeks ago. I tried the baby formula first and it did nothing for him. I beleive the main difference between the two is the menthol removed for the baby (not positive cause the label was taken off of our adult version). He has not reacted to it negatively, so it pretty much becomes a trial and error case! If your child gets a rash, wash the skin and don't put it on her again!!

NO.... that stuff is horrible if you get it in your eyes or mouth. A 7 month old wouldn't know not to rub his eyes if he gets the Vicks on his hand.

i personally would not put it directly on the skin, my mother when i was young would put some on a wash rag and clip it on my shirt so there is no skin reaction and its not to strong for the baby.they do mack children's vapor rub i would try and use that instead but if there's no other way i would try the wash cloth.
