I am 4.5 weeks pregnant. Recently, I had posted that, unlike the pregnancy of my daughter and the pregnancy of my miscarriage (blighted ovum), I had been having next to no symptoms. My breasts are sore and all, but as of yesterday I have started to have off and on sharp pains in the center of, and off to the very left and right of, my lower abdomen... where menstrual cramps would be. These are very painful, stabbing sensations. I don't know if this is round ligament pain early? I have no bleeding or cramping. Has anyone else ever had this type of sensation/pain happen this early on?? Please, serious responses only!!

This is my first pregnancy, and I had pains early on similar to you. It is how I first thought I may be pregnant- that and a missed period a couple weeks later, lol. In the past I have had a lot of problems with ovarian cysts. They can be very painful, and stabbing like you describe. This time I was basically having almost all of the pain on the left side.

I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks to make sure that I did not have a tubal pregnancy. They located the gestational sac where it should be and said that the cysts were worse on my right side (however little discomfort there). They basically told me in my case it was okay.

I did not have the pains the same way you are in the center of your abdomen at first. But now I sometimes do have pain or other discomfort, my understanding is that it is the uterus stretching. I think for me it is easier to deal with these things because it is my first pregnancy and I don't have anything to compare it to. I just assume it is uncomfortable I guess.

I really don't know what to say other than I hope you can see your doctor soon. I hope that they are able to see you and figure it out. If they say you are fine, try not to worry and rest through the pain if you can, it's what I try to do. Good luck :)

This is a weird question because for each person it could be something different. I would think ectopic pregnancy first, but your pain is all around instead of only on the side where the baby is implanted. If the pain is relatively quick and/or all the sensations combined don't last longer than a few minutes, it might just be you feeling your uterus stretch and prepare. Some first time moms feel it, while most second/third time moms feel it constantly throughout pregnancy. This being because you are more in tuned with your body since it has already been through it at least once! If you are worried though, definitely call the doctor and get an answer from him/her!

im on my 6th preg, had 5 previous miscarriages but never experience that kind of pain until no.

i had some pain at around five weeks as you described but had a scan that confirmed every thing was ok.

i was told it was my body adjusting and uscles stretching. it could also be implantation pain.

im now 11 wks and getting all kinds of weird pains but everything is fine.

if it were a miscarriage you would more than likely be bleeding and have a low dull ache/ throbbing pain.

I had some of this pain and was scanned for a tubal preg. you may want to get checked out although it could be something else. I couldnt imagine round legiment this early though. Mine ended up being some kind of infection though

Yes, I could see that being an ectopic (tubial) pregnancy. See a doctor, get an ultrasound as soon as possible.
