As a professional stylist myself I can totally relate to this problem. I always have my clients wait in the waiting area while I am with another client, they are not allowed back at my chair while I have another client. If I'm running behind I inform them and apologize. If they are early for their appointment I'll take them if I can but if I'm with another client they just have to wait for there scheduled appointment time, I won't rush to get them in sooner.

Well i think it really depends on where you work and it can be just as easy as explaining that they MUST wait their turn. I would offer other stylists that are available. If they are rude, its really not ur problem- unless they are a rich client. after they ask if you can hurry, just focus your attention on your current client and continue what you do best- HAIR.

For the same reason patients want their doctor to rush the patient they're with so THEY won't have to wait... even if they show up late! They're rude, self-centered and thoughtless. Grrr!
Unfortunately, no matter how politely you speak to them, they'll take offense. After all, how could anyone object to their behavior? They're so much more important than anyone else!

ask them if they wish me to hurry through their appointment for another.....sometimes when people are rude.....showing that rudeness as a mirror sometimes wakes them up.
people are greedy, self centered and want everything now no matter the cost to anyone else. and its only going to get worse.

maybe tell them that if you rush through their haircut, you'd probably botch their hair and they'd look awful
