MBA is an important investment in your career. So you got to decide the following:
1. What is the investment? (both financially and in terms of time)
The quantum of financial investment would decide, if the returns would justify the investment.
The time - there are courses which are accelerated (for example - 1 year). From the perspective of returns, this may be good. But you will have to decide, if you would be able to cope with the stress/strain of a 1 year MBA.
2. The Brand Equity of the school: This is visible from the placement records, and the profile of students.
3. Your practical take-away from a B School: This depends on the quality of the whole class. If you are in a school, where the average quality of the class is higher, you stand to gain by the case discussions. Also, the higher quality means, large proportion of the class getting placed well, which is good for networking later in life.
4. Soft skills: Networking and communication. You could start right away, without waiting to be in a B School.
In any case, MBA is a right decision. But choose your school well.
