Kwanzaa (or Kwaanza) is a week-long Pan-African secular holiday primarily honoring African-American heritage. It is observed from December 26 to January 1 each year, almost exclusively in the United States of America.

Ron Karenga created Kwanzaa in California in 1966[2], during his leadership of the black nationalist United Slaves Organization (also known as the "US Organization"), in order to give African Americans an alternative holiday to Christmas.

A fake, made-up holiday created in 1966 by some black sociologist in (where else?) California to create African pride among American blacks. My main issue is that he assumes all blackss in America are of African descent. And that they need him to tell them how to have pride in who they are. It's poppycock IMHO.
