why has the population of mexican cities along the gulf of mexico increased since the 1970's ?????"

Because of Tourism -weather, beaches, and all them are nearest of japan and California, Las Vegas, LA and other USA West Cost cities

I would imagine it has to do with migration of people from inland cities who are attracted to jobs in the tourism industry in the coastal cities. Also with the tourism indistry the standard of living for those cities was increased, thus longer lives, more babies, etc. I'm nat stating any of this as fact. It's just my assumption based on what little I know about Mexico.
